Every spring my father has what he simply likes to call his yearly Easter Sale. He sells all of his candy bars and stuffed bunny rabbits and everything for 60 percent off. He’s a very devout and religious man, and doesn’t believe in profiting off of this particular holiday. He always ends up losing a fair amount of money around this time, but he never seems to mind. He’s a very shrewd businessman and has even admitted to me that he has to cut back in other areas of his investments because of this, which I’ve always found quite strange. I’ve never thought of selling wholesale candy as a way to raise a family, but he’s been able to do just that.
This year I thought I was going to be able to help him out, but I’ve been called away on business. I have to go back east so that I can take a look at some rental development properties, which my partners and I are thinking of making an offer on. Every time I head out there I end up thinking about chocolate coins, because I miss my family a great deal. Hopefully the economy will start to around soon so I won’t have to take as many trips like these.
